WHAT IS A SEAPLANE?
A seaplane is a powerful aircraft capable of taking off and landing on water, whether it's the ocean, a river or a lake. Instead of having the typical landing gear, these aircraft are equipped with two pontoons or floats. The pontoons can also have wheels that enable the aircraft to take off and land on a runway — making the aircraft amphibious.
HOW A SEAPLANE HELPS REVA COMPLETE MISSIONS
Seaplanes are an essential part of REVA's fleet, providing us with access to even more areas so that any patient can be within reach. We only take on the best of the best, and our alliance with Tropic Ocean Airways has helped us succeed in this realm of sea landings. Here is a generalized look at how our seaplanes are so valuable for REVA's mission.
MEDICAL CAPABILITIES
Whether you need our seaplane for a medical evacuation or air ambulance services, it has several features onboard to aid a patient in any medical emergency. Some of its notable features include:
Ventilator Management
We have enough onboard power to support a ventilator, helping patients in medical distress breathe normally while at high elevation levels. Ventilation management is a primary factor in stabilizing critical care patients until we reach our destination.
Cardiac Monitoring
In addition to a ventilator, we have a heart monitor onboard to track the patient's heart rate and oxygen levels during the flight.
Invasive Line Monitoring
Our seaplane has invasive line monitoring capabilities to ensure the patient's blood pressure stays at safe levels while onboard. We can also use this technology to provide the patient with needed fluids or nutrients.
